1. Flutter 3.44.5 — The Fifth 3.44 Hotfix

The Flutter team shipped another stable hotfix, 3.44.5, on July 7, with four fixes. It resolves incorrectly logged "Built-in Kotlin migration" warnings when building Android apps and add-to-app modules (AGP < 9 with KGP), and fixes Android app bundle builds with flavors where libapp.so failed to be included in the produced bundle. It also fixes text shadow rendering — shadows had been appearing elsewhere on screen, detached from the text — and a crash that could occur during app shutdown or rotation on some Android devices using Impeller/Vulkan with HCPP.

Upgrade via flutter upgrade; it's a pure maintenance release with no new features.

2. Dart Code v3.138 — VS Code Extension Updates

The official Dart & Flutter extension for VS Code reached v3.138 on June 30. The LSP client was upgraded to version 3.18, paving the way for the analysis server to use new features and optimizations in upcoming SDKs. The Flutter Outline tree was removed from the Flutter sidebar — the standard Outline in the Explorer and the in-editor Flutter UI Guides preview both remain available.

It also ships fixes: running a subset of tests via CodeLens no longer incorrectly shows the rest of the suite as queued, the SDK picker button now works when selecting a new SDK path, and the Dart Tooling Daemon now transmits active-editor information more selectively (excluding e.g. output panels).
